De natureza alegre, com a cauda mostrando típico movimento incessante, cheio de energia, principalmente quando segue rastros; destemido, enfrentando qualquer tipo de terreno. Meigo, afetuoso, cheio de vida e exuberante.
Characteristics/Temperament

Merry nature with ever-wagging tail shows a typical bustling movement, particularly when following scent, fearless of heavy cover. Gentle and affectionate, yet full of life and exuberance.

nem muito grosseiro.

Skull well developed, cleanly chiselled, neither too fine nor too coarse.

Maxilares / Dentes: maxilares fortes, com uma perfeita, regular e completa mordedura em tesoura.

Jaws strong with a perfect, regular and complete scissor bite.

Bochechas: não proeminentes.

Cheek bones not prominent.

Olhos: cheios, mas não proeminentes. Marrom escuros ou marrons, jamais claros; porém, no caso de cães de cor fígado, fígado ruão e fígado e branco, os olhos são de cor avelã escura, em harmonia com a pelagem; com expressão de inteligência e meiguice, porém alerta, esperto e brilhante; pálpebras bem ajustadas.

Eyes: full, but not prominent. Dark brown or brown, never light, but in the case of liver, liver roan and liver and white, dark hazel to harmonise with coat; with expression of intelligence and gentleness but wide awake, bright and merry; rims tight.

Orelhas: lobulares, de inserção baixa, no nível dos olhos. Couro fino, estendendose até a ponta da trufa. Bem revestidas com pelos longos, lisos e sedosos.

Ears: Lobular, set low on a level with eyes. Fine leathers extending to nose tip. Well clothed with long, straight silky hair.

 

PESCOÇO: de comprimento moderado; musculoso. Bem ajustado em ombros bem inclinados. Garganta sem barbelas

Neck: Moderate in length, muscular. Set neatly into fine sloping shoulders. Clean throat.

 

TRONCO: forte e compacto.

BODY: Strong, compact.

Linha superior: firme, nivelada, suavemente descendente do final do lombo à raiz da cauda.

Level topline gently sloping downwards to tail from end of loin to set on of tail.

Lombo: curto e largo.

Loin short, wide with firm

Peito: bem desenvolvido e profundo; nem muito largo nem muito estreito na frente.

Chest well developed and brisket deep; neither too wide nor too narrow in front.
Costelas bem arqueadas.

Ribs well sprung.
 

CAUDA: inserida ligeiramente abaixo da linha do dorso. Deve ser alegre em movimento e portada em nível, nunca voltada para cima. Anteriormente era costume o corte da cauda.

Tail: Set on slightly lower than line of back. Must be merry in action and carried level, never cocked up.

Customarily docked.

Cortada: nunca tão curta que não se veja, nem tão longa para interferir na sua ação incessante e alegre quando em trabalho.

Docked: Never too short to hide, nor too long to interfere with, the incessant merry action when working.
Não Cortada: levemente curvada, de comprimento moderado, proporcional ao tamanho do corpo dando uma aparência geral equilibrada; não deve ir além do jarrete. Forte em sua raiz e afilando até a ponta, que deve ser fina. Bem franjada, em harminia com a pelagem. Sempre em movimento vivaz é portada em um plano não mais elevado que o nível do dorso e nunca tão baixo que indique timidez.
Undocked: Slightly curved, of moderate length, proportionate to size of body giving an overall balanced appearance; ideally not reaching below the hock. Strong at the root and tapering to a fine tip; well feathered in keeping with the coat. MEMBROS
Anteriores: com boa ossatura, retos, suficientemente curtos para concentrar a força. Não muito curtos a ponto de interferir no tremendo empenho que é esperado deste magnífico cão de caça.

Forequarters: Legs well boned, straight, sufficiently short for concentrated power. Not too short to interfere with tremendous exertions expected from this grand, sporting dog.

Ombros: bem inclinados e refinados.

Shoulders sloping and fine.

Patas: firmes, com almofadas grossas e pés de gato.

Feet. Firm, thickly padded, cat-like.

Posteriores: largos, bem arredondados e muito musculosos; com boa ossatura.

Hindquarters. Wide, well rounded, very muscular. Legs well boned, good bend of stifle, short below hock allowing for plenty of drive.
Joelhos: bem angulados. 

Stifle: Good bend.
Jarretes: curtos, permitindo uma grande propulsão.

Hock: Short below the hock joint, allowing plenty of drive.
PATAS: firmes, com almofadas grossas e pés de gato.

Feet: Firm, thickly padded, cat-like.

PELAGEM
Pelo: liso, de textura sedosa, jamais de arame ou ondulado; não muito abundante e nunca encaracolado. Bem franjado nos anteriores, corpo e acima dos jarretes.

Coat: Flat, silky in texture, never wiry or wavy, not too profuse and never curly. Well feathered forelegs, body and hind legs above hocks.

 

CORES: várias. Nas cores sólidas, só é permitida a cor branca no peito. (As últimas emendas da FCI trazem especificações em relação às cores, não disponibilizadas ainda no padrão da CBKC. Last FCI emend brings specification concerning colors.)

FALTAS: qualquer desvio dos termos deste padrão deve ser considerado como falta e penalizado na exata proporção de sua gravidade e seus efeitos na saúde e bem estar do cão e na sua habilidade para executar seu tradicional trabalho.

Faults: Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree and its effect upon the health and welfare of the dog and on its ability to perform its traditional work.

Os machos devem apresentar os dois testículos, de aparência normal, bem descidos e acomodados na bolsa escrotal.

Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum.
